The river goes into a deep gorge here, and one has to climb up the verges to find a safe path It looks just an innocent burn though before entering the gorge! Walking along side the gorge. Being out of the wind, trees thrive here somewhat better. Looking into Glen Pean Bridge over the river Pean. This one seems strong enough. The river Pean and its glen The Nammatj pitched on the island in the river Pean, one of the few places here with dry grass and no bog. A really nice place to camp in fact. The islet has no name, the knoll in the background being Tom na h-Iolaire, we could call it in fact Eagle Island! The spacious abside of the Nammatj. Note the bottle deployed ready for use! Looking upstream the river Pean An old sheepfold, in the conifer plantation Strathan! This is the town of Strathan. One (well kept) holiday cottage and a few ruins. In America this would be called a ghost town.
