Early departure with bus 62 to catch the 07.08 to Inverness, and further on to Achnasheen on the Kyle line, connecting with the bus for Poolewe, my actual starting point. (NG857807). Left at 13.45 for the first part of the trip. Nice weather, the smock could quickly move to the bergen. A few miles on the gravel road to Kernsary farm. Many stags can be seen in this area. Further on on a newly-laid path in the direction of the Fionn Loch, where a camp is made at Polt Fraochain (NG969753). I eat a dried meal (Norwegian fish): tastes not really bad, but in fact expensive for what it is. A very beautiful sunny evening, with a fresh breeze to keep the insects at bay, what a beautiful start of the trip. Today I met one walker, and covered 9,8 miles. 18
